The SQ 2's are custom built to your specifications with the SQ 2 configurator on the Sonor website.

Karl:

The Sonor factory is 5 hours driving time from Berlin. What is the name of the town the Sonor factory is located? Do you know?
Thanks,

Actually the funniest thing I've seen all week was at Guitar Center... Apparently a very short lived employee tried polishing a nice aged Zildjian K..... he thought it was dirty.... ::sigh:: I've actually never polished my Paiste Sigs and I never will.

I'll say it again... that's an amazing kit. It actually has me thinking that I need to run out and get a vacuum rig so I can try playing with veneers next.

definitally an amazing drum set.

Finish is stunning, and the hardware is quite interesting.
DONT POLISH YOUR CYMBALS!!!

I think cymbals look much better tarnished, just gives an impression that theres a darker sound, and most of the time there is

To order a Sonor SQ 2 you go to the Sonor website under the SQ 2 configurator, create a drumkit. Print out the config. and take it to your Sonor dealer. The config. will have a reference number. Your dealer will send the reference # along with the details of your kit to Sonor. It's easy.
Go to the sonor website and create your dream drumset, just like you would with a DW Kitbuilder, it's a lot of fun!

I did that and my dream set would cost me 7800.00. Waiting on the lottery.

They're pricey but worth it. The price you got from the SQ 2 configurator is suggested list. You should get a discount of 20% more or less from the list price, That still makes them quite expensive.

That kits a real gem, I wish I had that kind of stuff, even a little 4 piece in that finish, and quality, but at least I have a kit, for that I am grateful.

Hey dude,

The Sonor guys are real artists. Top quality wood and chrome there mate. 12 ply? That sounds insane!!!...in a good way! ;)

Personally, not a finish that floats my boat, but I cannot agree more with the sentiments above - A stunning piece of German craftsmanship!

...or as they say over there - "Vorsprung Durch Technik"

Congratulations!

Almost forgot... The snare! First thought I didn't see right! That thing is gorgeous!! :D
Rock on, mate! :P

I think that might be the most beautiful finish I've ever seen. What a stunning looking kit. And, I'll bet it sounds even better than it looks. Congratulations!

Thanks all for your responses. I've had this kit almost 2 weeks now and it sounds better each day I practice. I can't believe I went all these years without buying a Sonor kit.
