Default Kick pads? Whats your faverates?

Hi there guys. Just wondering what kickpads for bassdrums people prefer. Do you use it add to the sound? To protect the head? I have used lots in the past evans eq & danmar click pad being 2 of my faverates. For some reason in england i cant seem to get the double evans eq pads anymore! The white plastic ones that is. I have some clear ones but i have still had head damage from heavy drummers trying to stick the beater throught my head. I was using a emad for ages but waiting for my new sonor 2007 ( 2x22" 10" 12" 14" 16" ) to arrive i will be going for a aquarian superkick 2. I like the danmars but im not sure about getting them this time round. I think there a tad to clicky for me & although there better now than they used to be they fall apart quickly...I also need a double pad on each bassdrum as i will not always be playing with 2 bassdrums & sometimes use a double pedal. Would be good to hear what people like using?

Thanks gentlmen

I've used the Aquarian patch with success, very durable. Now I'm using the Aquarian super-thin patch and it's holding up well, but with a little more feel.

I used the Danmar kick pads for ages, but know I use a remo falam.

When you ghost note the bass in funk with a Danmar, it sounds like your tapping a snare drum with too tight snares....

Not a good sound.

Perfect for death metal, but not very versatile.

I still have a danmar in my gig-box though, I may need it someday.

For the love of your own respective gods what happened to education?

It's Favorites if your American and Favourites if your English or Canadian!

As for bass patches nothing beats the Remo Falam Slam, especially the new version that isn't kevlar anymore but aramid fiber. You'll notice the fibers aren't yellow anymore, they are black. It's because they are cutting it out of the same aramid fibers they use for the WhiteMax marching snare heads.

Because of the new fibers it's a bit softer which reduced the ticky attack slightly and allows the patch to flex a bit more.

I was looking for the super-thin kickpad last monday but infortunately it wasn't stock so I bought a Coated Force 1 head and it come with standard single kickpad that I added (overlap) to my existing head fitted with another single (look in the pic). I thank you for the info, I will certainly buy double super-thin kickpad in the future.
