Check out my drums. They are pearl masters Birch. They are about four years old and they really sound good.

Here is a little closet i turned into a practice space. The kick is a 1950's suitcase with a mic inside, and i monitor with my condenser mic, all with the 4track standing by!!

This is my humble Home Studio. It's been a long building process but it's gone from scratch to a nice sounding home studio room with a humble Mac DAW. I'm having a blast really. It's still in working progress but i'm already very happy with it.

Here's the gear:

TAMA Rockstar Custom EFX
2x MXL 991
2x MXL 990
1x SHURE BETA 52
2x M-Audio Audio buddy mic preamps
1x Novation ReMOTE 25 LE USB MIDI Controller
1x Presonus firepod audio interface.
I'm running Logic on a 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro

Very nice - you made your own space. Looks like around 800 square feet. Beautiful setting. Where are you? I imagine no neighbors are nearby.

Thanks. Actually it's about 380 square feet. This is actually in Algeria where i currently reside. No neighbors to care about really, the closest one is a good 1500 feet away.

I am curently still working on the sound although i already get nice results recording.

Peace

I keep the floor area clear and my drums pointed inward to facilitate practice. This is in a section of a basement with cement walls on two sides and lots of house on the other, so I haven't had a complaint from neighbors in the six years I've lived here.

Sure, anytime! I've often thought it would be great to have a bunch of board people over for a jam session.

Here is my loft. It's set up for quiet practice for my two piece. We can play everything through the mixer and then the headphones and be nearly silent. It's all low end gear but it's a lot of fun and good for working out new songs.

We record using cubebase via the PC located upstairs with only the auxilary monitor/TV and cordless mouse downstairs.

As I now drive a four piece, I can fit it in my room.

I have towels and stuff on everything to mute it so I dont annoy my neighbors, lol.

Ive also thrown in a picture of my corner of stuff where all my ols sticks and heads live, along with hand percussion, and also a pic of my gig flightcase with brushes and stuff on....

And thats that...

Cool set man, I really like the look of that E kit. How do you like it? I think my parents are thinking about getting me that, especially afater I got double bass. They cant take it.

That room is awesome man. I think thats how my room is going to be in a few years; drum stuff laying all over the place, in every corner in the room.

Btw, I like the picture on Dave Weckyls book. He looks like an 80s hair metal rocker lol.
YEAH ANIMAL #1
lol my parents will do the same, :P they just get tired of my double bass to :P

Hi,

What's the construction on the drum risers/stages?
Do they help much with the sound isolation?

thanks!

Great collection! I have just about everything you do, except the dholak and very cool afuche, and I just have one set (see my space on this page above). What's the dum on the right that looks like an oversized dholak?

Now you just have to arrange it - not a problem if you enjoy installing lots of shelving!

My practicepad I bought the other week and the metronome I got for my birthday (it's the biggest present I ever got, everybody was in on it to pay :) )

So, this is the place where I am a least an hour a day.

All drummers should teach themselves double bass - even if you don't use it in your band. If you play right handed - teach yourself to play left handed. If you write progressions - flip them and write the reverse progression. Do what ever you do with your left hand that you do with your right. That goes for your feet too. Practice rolls on a pad when ever you have spare time.

Just a basic kit I bought from a second hand shop. It's in the garage at my mom and stepdad's house. I didn't want to be one of those young guys who runs out and buys an elaborate, $1,000+ kit straight out the gate. However, I will be faced with the daunting task of finding the ideal stuff to buy once I become good enough to make the investment.

There is a mirror in between. It makes it look like there are two kits there. lol. You should put those two things closer together so you can just spin around and smash on the other one.
