Yes, the colors are traditional for that mantra, but it would look good in all black, too. Here's a pic of a "mani stone" with the colors but a slightly different version of the script.

Thank you Sir!

It looks so much better in person. I searched for 2 years to find an artist I trusted since I had no tatoos at the time.

People really freak out when I show them the tat with her standing next to me.

The weirdest part was after it was done, I took off the bandage and fell asleep in bed. When I woke up, there was an image of her in blood stained into the sheet. It was creepy!

I dig the one you want to get done on your back. It will probably hurt like hell since it will be on the spine!

If I may ask, where is it placed. Can't tell by the picture.
I like the design too, altough if I ever get one it's gonna be a tribal.

Tattoos are an addiction, like potato chips, you can't have just one. Your is nicely done, I really like it, but I would bet money your girlfriend has seen Dave Conway's logo.

(No offense intended, just an observation ;) )

Check it out.

Great tatt!! Happy late B-Day!
You are so right about the tattoos are like potato chips.
I have to control myself so I am waiting before I get anymore, I don't want to look unfem.
But I encourage others to get them so I can see them and get a quick fix.

I have about ten tattoos but only a few of them mean anything. which is what havin a tattoo is all about I think so you can look at it or people will ask you about it and you will have a story to tell.
My next one I want portraits of my children but it is hard to come across a good portrait tattooist.

if the artist is good, then it will heal well. Mine in the picture is healing nicely -- some peeling and flaking of the skin, but if you take care of it and the artist has propert technique, it should heal well without pain and (more importantly) without damage to the tattoo.

i have another tat that is a set of large stars -- the artist had a 'heavy hand' and scared part of my skin. Unfortunately it was slightly more painful than it needed to be (which it was not that painful) but more importantly it damaged the look of the tattoo slightly (discolored the blue). The good artist i found is going to touch it up for me, which should bring it back to its original state.

nice and ya that sucks about the heavy hand. i know the guy im getting it done from is very skilled, he has done many on my friends, and there is so much detail and shading. they said no peeling at all. so i guess it depends on the artist, the person and the place of the tattoo.

hey wega,

happy belated birthday and nice tat (you too Fat Elvis)....they are definately like potato chips. i've got a couple, but my favorite one is my Animal on my right forearm (it's my avatar). i still want to get the Bonham three rings underneath it, and i have a few ideas for other "drum" related ones.

Nice, bro. The artist did a nice job. I have thought about a drum tattoo as well, but alas I don't like the sight of blood - especially mine :)

Peace.

As you can see, I really want an irish tattoo to show my heritage. I already have a canadian tattoo planned out in a couple of months. I love both of these and am leaning towards the shield, which is the shield for the irish police.
I was actually gonna ask about them irish thing seeing as you from canada but no need now hahaha

I've got many more on the way. I hate getting them, but I love having them!

allrighty here we go.

First one I got about two years ago. I still have yet to go back to get it finished up. It needs to be colored in a bit more. Took approx. 2 hours straight. It was my first tattoo and the back of the leg where your knee bends....hurts, really....really bad!

My other one I just got about 2 weeks ago. It's a memorial tattoo for my good friend that just passed of brain cancer. He was the owner of the Drum Center of Lexington, so the the drumset in the center is part of the drumcenter logo. This one didn't hurt at all really, but my mind was more on loosing my friend at the time so I wasnt thinking about the pain. It took about an hour and after it heals i'm going to go get more added onto it as well.

If you wanna know Karl, its uncomfortable while they're doing it, and downright painful on certain body parts; especially those body parts!!

Thanks. He was a great guy and is missed dearly. If anyone is ever in Lexington Kentucky stop by the Drum Center Of Lexington. He started that store from the ground up with nothing in his pockets. It's under new ownership now but I hear the guy that bought it is very respectful of Kevin's vision.

Seeing as we're getting them out then heres mine, on my inner right forearm. Its a pair of Vic Firth 5A American Classics crossed over with flames through the center, took around an hour to an hour and 30 mins, and I wont lie, it hurt, not much but it did, but only at the start, but you soon get used to the sensation.

Reason I had this one is because they're my first pair of sticks, so why not, im hoping to get another one soon maybe my second pair of sticks on the other arm.

Oooooh yes...like around the nipples? Ouch! I've got a couple and would agree that it's not too painful. As Jon said, more uncomfortable than anything really...apart from when they went near the nipples! Damn, now that did hurt!
