you should! Wraps are fun and with the idea that you can incorporate custom stripes or designs, the options are endless. I will tell you a side benefit is that i took my 10" tom to show my friend who works in guitar center and there were 3 girls at the door (all of them @ 20 years old) -- one of which worked there. They went GAGA over the kit. I sat there and talked to them for 5 minutes.

never had a girl impressed enough with the look of my drums to talk to me about it before. :)

Maybe I'll just go get my kit wrapped in purple and silver sparkle then too...

This means you're going to have to update your little signature pic now. Or just add extra images so it looks like you have two starclassics...

The finish isn't really my cup of tea, but it does look damn good.

wow fat E you are amazing once again! those are sooo much better looking, my only problem with star classics where the limited color choices.

Very nice indeed, looks like it was meant to be! Interesting.. your bass has 8 lugs per head, and my starclassic has 10, I wonder if this is due to USA/Europe or not.

well, i do like the new chrome starcast mounts better, thats for sure. They would look better chome -- i agree. I will maybe have to look into the cost of that. I also want to geta white resonant bass head as i dont like the look of the black on this kit now. Great suggestion!

Thanks Jolly! I agree -- i love the new look. I think the newer colors that Tama is bringing out are good -- some of the sparkles. They had a KILLER gold, green and bright pink sparkle, but i think they dropped it (limited time?). I dont know why more companies dont bring out some wild colors and sparkles. I think if you match those colors to a pro kit, it would sell well.

The starclassic (from what i understand) have only this year brought out a 10 lug kick drum. All the older starclassics have 8 lugs. My starclassic is a few years old. The 8 lugs dont bother me though -- i have 8 on my DW as well (but that is a 20" kick).

Man, I thought you were nuts, i've never liked wraped drums, but....... these babys are sweet. My hats off to the guy that did the work, he's a true craftsman.
I also play a DW kit and a Tama performer like yours. It was nice to hear you say that for now you like prefer the sound of the Tama kit. I feel the same way. While I love my DeeDubs theres something about the punch from the Tama kit that gets my blood pumping.
GOOD JOB MAN!!

Mike

duuude, I dig this! I can`t understand why many people I know say that those colours (pink, violett etc.) are girlie colours. I really like this finish!

What is in that wrap? Is it from real glass crush...or foil glitter?

Karl

thanks Karl.... i am not sure what is inside the wrap... even on close inspection it looks like glass to me. Anyone know what is in a glass glitter wrap?

oh and i dont buy into the whole "girlie" color biz either. If the drums look hot and you dig em, then play em :)

I love that finish, my man! I always liked drums with flash.

And yes, the glass glitters really do have glass in them.

BTW, I have a drum on the way to Pork Pie for re-edging. I told them you were well pleased with your DW kit, and your online praise helped me decide to go with Pork Pie. Dominic said to tell you hi!

Sweet, definitely flashy and eye catching, now all you need is a Tama logo reso head with the "Tama" written in pink! Sparkles usually don't do it for me, but this certainly does. Compliments to the craftsman.
