Can not go wrong with a Pork Pie. I own 8 or 9 snares.

Very nice! How does it compare to the Pig Lite in sound?

That's sweet! I think it blends good with the kit, or is it just me?

well, actually closer than i would have thought. I have not done a side by side comparison, but they have a similar ring to them, although the pig lite is deeper in tone. I think the pig lite was slightly warmer as well, which also surprised me.

This snare is loud -- it will cut easily. I backed off it though and it surprisingly dried up and still sounded very nice -- even still cut, but just in a low-volume sort of way.

defenately worth $120 :)

Joe
it actually does sound REALLY good with my kit. My starclassic is tuned deep and the bright, cutting sound of the snare really compliments it. The sound and style of the kit with that snare makes me just want to rock out. :)

May I take a moment to say how much I really like that wrap job you did there. At first I thought it was one of those C & C custom kits, then I remembered you did it yourself.

thanks sleepy -- although i did not do it myself... i paid a local pro-wrapper-drum-guy here in vegas to do it for me. He did a great job and i love it like i would love a C&C thats for sure.

i will be honest here -- if i had to sell either my DW or my starclassic, as tough of a decision as that would be, im afraid the DW would go. This is just the perfect kit for me in every way.

nice set, nice snare.

I must say the finish on the starclassic blows that dw out of the water. but thats personal opinion

Do you think your going to refinish the snare? i was never a big fan of black. but your choice.

I am thinking about refinishing it -- i dont like black drums either -- probably my least favorite color.
