PDP FS Birch kit- 2003

Tom Sizes- 10" x 8", 12" x 9", and 14" x 12"

Bass drum- 22" x 18"

Snare- Some ludwig from 1969. Its a band members, not actualy mine, but I have been using it for the past like 8 months. Sounds pretty neat. The head on it is an Aquarian Performance II with power dot. It makes NO overtones!!

I usually use Ahead 5B Rock sticks, but I dont have anymore tapers so Im using a pair of vics until I get some new tapers.

Some PDP Double peddle, I dont like the beaters, they can do quite a bit of damage to the head with heavy playing. I prefer felt, and need to get some.

Cymbals- 16" and 18" B8 Pro Rock crashes, 20" B8 Ride, 14" B8 Hi-hats

Evans G2 Heads,Evans Hydrolic bass batter, stock PDP Reso heads on all drums but the snare and bass. For snare, some aquarian reso head, and for bass and Aquarian regulator with a hold in the center, as you can see :-P

You have a really nice snare drum! I think its a Ludwig Supraphonic Snare. ]
Vintage Ludwig = the best

Hi,

The drum appears to be an Ludwig Acrolyte, which was the student drum of choice for many years but lots of drummers use them, including pros. It's an 8 lug drum with a beaded alluminum shell, much like the supra, but an anodized finish instead of chrome. Like the Supra, the drum has a great crack when set up right. To this day, Ludwig makes the thinest snare side head. Put a new one of those on that drum, tighten it up and you will be in love with it. I'd recomend a coated batter head as well.

Boy does this kit bring back some memories....I had one of these about 6 years ago. I loved every second of my time playing on that thing. Congrats on an awesome kit! If you haven;t yet, try some EC2's. That will get some real nice attack out of those drums. Enjoy!!
