Wow, lots of classic groups from the past.

Is this a lost art? What new contemporary groups/artists do great harmonies today?

I dont have the knowledge or ability to determine if voices are in harmony. How does one determine this? Obvi Im completely unlearnt as far as music and drums, I wing it all.

For CURRENT 2-part harmonies, and to get a good folk-country "fix", with great original songs by Swedish sisters, try FIRST AID KIT !!
