Hey all, new to the forum. I'm a confirmed Ludwig freak (hence the name) and have been playing off and on for around 36 years. I'm down to two kits now, a mid 70's three ply 14/16/18/24 Pro Beat (minus the 13 that I sold) and a 12/14/22 with matching snare Epic X-Over Striped kit that I converted into an E-kit for my church gig. The Pro Beat is my favorite of the two---a lot of sweat equity went into that kit. I picked it up cheap but it was essentially a basket case with roached wrap and missing hardware. I re-wrapped it, found what I needed hardware wise and am very happy with it. The pics here are older ones---sadly, the Supra 402 is long gone and I'm using GEN16 Buffed Bronze cymbals with the Epics.

Here is another kit that I previously had, one of my favorites. Classic six ply's, 15/16/18/26 with a Ludwig 302 Chrome over steel that sounded almost exactly like a 402. I sold them when my tinnitus and hypercusis got out of control---they were too stinking loud!

This was a Classic Birch 8/10/12/13/14/16/18/22 kit that I owned previously with Sabian AA's. Great kit.
Last but not least, a Clubdate kit with a Classic floor tom. 22 inch kick, 14 mounted tom that may have been a special order and a 16x16 six ply that I wrapped in blue sparkle.

This is the 71-ish Ludwig Big Beat kit that I own. 3-ply Maple/Poplar/Maple in red sparkle finish. Drums pictured here are 22 bass, 13 rack, 16 floor and also not seen well is a 1965 Ludwig Acrolite. This set also has a 12" rack that I sometimes use in place of the 13. Thanks for looking!

Here's my mongrel Ludwig 12x8 (Early 70s), 16x15 (Late 70s early 80s), 18x16 (Mid 70s), 22x14 (May 1966) plus my 1984 402 complete with bowtie lugs and re-sprayed in blue (No idea who did it but it used to belong to the dude from Neds Atomic Dustbin who got it like this on tour in the US)

Recovered it in Green Sparkle, great players kit. Not worth much but it's my baby that I put a lot of work into.

Here's my newest. Clubdate SE in Ruby Sparkle. I'm in the process of moving, so I can't set it up and play regularly for another month. This is a living room shot from the day I got them. 20x14, 12x8, 14x14 and a matching 14x5 snare (which is for sale, btw).

Cheers dude! Looks better from a distance, close up you can see flaws but that's why it's a players kit.

I'm tempted to give it a re-finish in blue or black oyster

Just put together my Keystone X. 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 22x16. Awesome!
Silver mist sparkle. Exquisite!
Trying to put together a Atlas hardware package. It's impossible! VERY little info in product descriptions. Accessory items, scissor lifts, telescoping arms, floor tom legs, etc. 12.7mm, ok,,,,,,what's the lengths? Nobody has any to see!
The stores have no info either. Geez, why is this so hard?

Some nice kits here. I havenít played a Ludwig kit since the 60ís. My first kit was a blue sparkle Ludwig. My eldest brother literally beat me out of them, then sold them to buy a red sparkle Ludwig-which he still has with the original heads. He hasnít played them in decades just hid them away and wonít return them. I did con him in giving me my first cymbal a 24 in Zildjian back. Needless to say this has been a sore point between us.

Here is my modded questlove pocket kit.
I built triggers inside the drums, rubbered original cymbals and added piezos there and bought rack where toms and cymbals sit now. Next i think im going to buy real feel mesh heads for the set.

Here is photo of it

https://i.imgur.com/8vRQ4b5.jpg

Im using 2box drumit five as module. Also one pad and ride cymbal are 2box stuff.
P.s. When i took that picture hihat and one cymbal wasnt wired.
Also hihat controller is built in the small box which is under the pocket kits original kick pedal. Just took the beater off and added magnet on the bottom where it will control 2box circuit. Works great.

Here are mine.

First up is a Classic Maple in Green Sparkle. 24x14, 13x9, 16x16.

I have this tuned up for projection and mostly use it when playing un-mic'd.

Next is my new kit, Legacy Mahogany in Citrus Mod. 22x14, 13x9, 16x16.

This kit is going to be more for studio work and close mic'd situations.

Ludwig Heirloom 5.5x14 stainless steel.
Superb drum. Crisp, extremely sensitive, power and cut when you want it. The stock Remo Ambassador heads are very nice, although I prefer a Ludwig Weathermaster snare side.
