That was amazing, and those Ludwig concert toms were the cherry on top! I think that may have been a full Octa-plus set, in thermogloss Maple no less.

I saw the The Bad Plus at a clinic and when asked about locking in with the bass he basically said, "I don't give to shits what the bass is doing."

Yes, it's like drum forum viagra.

Let's see how much new found, *cough*, "vigour" it can inject into the forum postings.

Somewhat within the direction of this thread, it occurred to me that some here may not have experienced the delights of Wailin Smash - the ultimate delusional representation of ego stroked magnificence https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNyN_DOir7M

I'm a fan :)

This guy seems like he could be the creation of a collaborative effort by Steve Coogan and the makers of Red Dwarf.

Just the kind of persona of whom you could say "You couldn't make it up"!

"Oh and hey Wailin, remember to tell the good folks how you distinguish yourself from other drummers, your competitive advantages if you will."

"Competitive advantages heh ? Got it."

Does Wailin' play with a band at all, or does he just make these videos?

Wailin Smash I can honestly say I've never heard of him. Well he sings pretty good, and bonus points for being to play every single cymbal he has, except the two big gongs, every song (man that's a gift). I love the "attitude" of the dude on the FB link-the other musicians are peripheral doing their thing-whatever that is. I think he could get a bit more bark from those concert toms.
