Default UK snow

As most of you probably know, snowfall in the South of the UK is unusual, but we're positioned high up, so when it's around, we get it! It's been an interesting couple of days. Trees bringing down power lines, so no power for 2 days - drums stayed in the car after the gig too.

Anyhow, as a change to boulder shots in the off topic lounge, here's some snow stuff from around our property.

I've never seen snow. That looks like a buzz, Andy, as long as you don't have to get anywhere in a hurry.

Sydney tomorrow is predicted to be close to 40C and will stay pretty hot overnight - I think snow would be more pleasant :)

In no way am I making fun of you, but for a Californian, this is mind blowing! We have almost every climate within a few hours drive at most and I completely forget that lots of people the world over have never seen snow, or desert, or redwood Forrest, I've even heard people say they've never seen the ocean...

Weird world sometimes!

We quite often have all 4 seasons in a day here. Also know people who have never seen the sea. Luckily I am well travelled so have been privileged to all weathers & climates :)

You got a nice dusting over there, Andy. I've live in all climates from the beaches to the low desert and high desert to the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the farm land of the Central Valley. Snow is cool as long as you don't have to drive in it. It's just all that hidden ice here and there that scares the crap out of me. I'm always slipping and falling on the stuff.

Still on the ground here, but diminishing.

40C is too much for me. I'm a pale skinned Northern hemisphere mid tuning sort of guy :)

Agreed. Nice for a few days, but the hassle of power outages + travelling challenges gets tired really quickly.

Man, that looks like north Idaho! The irony is, we're usually pretty well buried by now, and we have absolutely none in the valleys.

Yeah, my friends in Minnesota got a little dusting, but I think England got more so far.

We got hit hard in the Midlands too. Luckily I got back from gigging on the Saturday night a couple hours before it came down here.

I live opposite a Victorian Park and it was very Christmas cardy when I got up in the morning. Didn't enjoy having to dig the car out that night or the back garden so the cats could get out! No power losses thankfully.

Mad thing is I'd just got back from Poland where the weather is way worse and they just get on with it. If you've never been go the food and drink is perfect for the colder climates.

One week later there are still quite a few patches of snow and ice in my area.
When it snowed on the 10th however, I made a nice video going down the main road with snowmen and people having fun everywhere, a nice contrast to the deserted and anti-social streets.

Lovely! This is a normal winter occurrence where I live and I'm a bit surprised at how comforting I find those pics.

Sunshine and snow in the UK?
It must be climate change.

Beautiful shots. As a Canadian I have seen plenty of snow however it always seems to have a different glow to it when it falls in snow virgin territory.
