Default I didn,t get the memo

About one of my fave bands ' Three Dog Night.
I notice Phil Negron one of the singers has what appears to be a nice solo career going on with his kids, THEN I see TDN advertised with a boat load of tour dates??
Can someone let me know what happened to split up another classic band?

I can't think of any band that was famous before the 1980's that is touring with its original members.

If you look up Three Dog Night on Wikipedia, check out how many past members there were (are). A long long list. I think TDN has not toured with their three main original singers for many many years.

Thx for that. I know those classic bands go through dozens of players, but since it was their vocals that propelled them through the ranks, I figured they would at least try to stay together. If you look at vocal groups from the Do Wop 50,s you quite often see "most" of the original singers together, except of course when they pass on. Even then, I,ve seen members replaced with brothers or cousins, aunts, uncles, etc of the originals.

TDN, was just one of those exceptionally talented vocal groups...IMO.

Chuck Negron has been out of the band for years. Both Chuck and TDN are working.

Cory Wells (think Never Been to Spain) died in 2015. Chuck Negron has been solo for decades now, and Danny Hutton is the lone remaining vocalist. The rest of the band has also suffered two other deaths with Jimmy Greenspoon (keyboards) and Joe Schermie (bass).

Floyd and I spoke a couple of months ago. He still plays and has also been doing art. He has always been one of my favorite drummers.
