Default Yolanda has a pulse / jam challenge for you!

Yolanda put this up on her FB page. I asked her to put it up on Youtube so it's easier to share here. She kindly obliged.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33-x...ature=youtu.be

This is only an iPad recording. I suggested she design a short run of well recorded drum play-along videos / exercises. Turns out she was thinking the same thing :) Watch this space!

Never heard of this but just trying to tap along with my cup of coffee I lost it around 2:06 haha. Great exercise and fun! I could use more of this. Wish I had some some video editing skill so I could make one of those split screen edits with me playing along to her.

Must have been. Looks like it's working today. I'll have to see if *I* have a pulse later... lol

Enjoy her work - and never miss an opportunity to check this out. Great jam. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uyuAcohkZIk

Andy, I remember her playing on a couple demo videos you did for Gura few years back now that I think of it.

Just have to count out loud here (still hard!)

This is really cool! I usually see these kinds of exercises done with a click but I like how this is fluid. Sort of works that balance of internalizing a pulse but also externalizing it by listening very carefully.

Haven't yet had a go of it on the kit but I've gone through it a couple of times slapping out a 16th note groove on my knees. I reckon it will be further challenging to move to an 8th note and then quarter note groove while filling into/catching accents like she suggests.

Anyway, thanks for posting this Andy! I'm diggin' it.

Going to be playing along to this tomorrow when I have some time at the kit.

I have the feeling it's going to be poor!, looking forward to it all the same.
