It sounds like, chop-busting aside, you're performing well within the company and are being rewarded for it. That's a good sign. Consider this another test, step up, and kill it - and have some fun doing it.

I hope my boss one day asks for me to do this with my covers band.

Her son is a drummer so fingers crossed she'll want us to do a drum-off :-)

This will never happen to me, because most of my co-workers are Eastman grads and play way above my level. But it would be fun.
