Default Different Versions of Yamaha Stage Custom?

Hello all,

I've been looking into purchasing a 20" kick Yamaha Stage Custom Birch as my next kit.

I was looking on Musician's Friend, and there are three kits listed, a 22" kick "Yamaha Custom Birch," a 20" kick "Yamaha Custom Birch," and a 20" kick "Yamaha 2013 Stage Custom Birch."

When looking through the descriptions of the two 20" models, the version with no year specified comes with different finish options, no hardware, shallower toms, but a 10-lug snare - a feature that I'd only thought was on the 2014 version of the kit.

In the 2013 version of the kit, the toms are deeper, color options are different, and 700 series hardware is included. There's no mention of the 10-lug snare.

My question is, what year / version of the kit is the non-2013 version listed with the 10-lug snare and no hardware?

Here's a link so you know what I'm talking about:

Thank you!

The first two on the left in your link are 2014. The one on the right is 2013.
Two quick ways to tell are the badges, and the inside of the bass drum hoop.
The older ones have stain on the inside of the hoop. 2014's don't.

Excellent, thank you for clarifying!

Looks like if you get the 2013 version, they're throwing in the hardware pack.
If you get the 2014, you get the new upgrades. Either one for the same price.
Which one are you thinking about?

The hardware would be nice, but I like the size, finish and the tom depth better on the 2014 version.
