JBonzo1, you have great taste in snares. Stunning and I bet they sound great too.

Thanks for the kind words about my D Dubs.

No problemo!
What veneer is on the Top Edge?
Did the Cherry snare come from Dale's?

Sweet and sweet. Love that 14x6.5. That makes 12 DW snares by my count. Now what snare do you play most?

Thanks and thanks.
I have a few more, need to photograph them.
It depends on which kit I'm playing... The Vintage Brass gets a lot of time on the stand, just a sweet sounding drum, it works with the cherry shell kit. 5" deep snares, like the copper, maple and birch work for me with the maple Collectors kit. Of course, the Craviotto's can go with anything!
I also have a variety of Ludwig snares which are great with everything. And some Yamaha and Pearl snares.
Here's a 5.5x13 stainless steel which is superb. I'd love to get a 6.5x14 version.

Did you have to special order your 14x10 and 18x16? Did you get them direct from DW? Thanks!

The 16x18 is a stock size, the 10x14 started out as a 12x14 that I had Precision Drum cut down.

Nice Kit! looking to get one myself!

Question though, where did you find a shell pack with these sizes? Those are perfect sizes for me.

That looks sharp..................is the snare a performance model? I thought they used a different looking turret lug?

Another quick setup I put together while my wife and kids were out of town visiting Grandma. Yes, that's our living room! :-)

In this pic, I have some pretty cool, one-off custom order sizes: (all factory DW of course)

24x18 African Chechen kick (yep...that's 24" DEEP by 18" Diameter)
10x13 Edge African Chechen snare (natural to candy brown fade) (yep...10" deep Edge)
8x10 twisted maple hanging tom natural satin (I have the matching 11x14 hanging floor, but it's not in this picture)
13x14 twisted maple natural satin floor tom
14x16 floor tom (will be used behind secondary snare)
6.5x14 African Chechen natural to red fade snare
18x20 natural maple kick (early 90's) natural satin
12x20 natural maple kick/woofer (early 90's) natural satin
All DW rack and hardware
All Zildjian cymbals

Not pictured but to be added the next time they family leaves town...
(3) Natural to candy brown fade rata toms (16x6, 14x6 and 12x6"

Close-up of the "Whopper"... I picked up this snare, the kick and a rack tom (not pictured) from a super cool and highly talented DW endorsed artist about two months ago. The pictures do this finish absolutely NO JUSTICE!

This is My DW Performance Kit I bought about a year ago through ZZounds. 22x18, 16x14, 12x9 in Pewter Sparkle with G2s on the toms, an Evans EMAD2 on the kick, and an Evans ST Dry on the snare, still have not replaced the stock resos. I love my floor tom but I am more of a 14'' floor tom kida guy so I might switch that out at some point.

Hardware is Dw 9000 bass pedal, boom stand and hi-hat stand with Sabian 14" X-Cellerator Hi-hats and a 22'' Sabian Omni which is my favorite cymbal ever.

Also pictured is a 14x5.5 polished brass Tama Snare which I would like to know more about if anyone knows anything I can give details.I plan on replacing it with a 14x6.5 DW Collector's Nickel Over Brass. More/closer-up pictures to come!!!

Here is a picture of my former DW Jazz series kit, 18/12/14 - sold this kit when I bought my Yamaha Club Custom kit. The DW was a nice kit, the Club Customs are special drums.

Thanks! It's surprisingly punchy and deep. What's so cool about it though is it's diversity. Depending on the heads, muffling, mallet choice, etc... it seems to a be a much more dynamic drum than my 20+ inchers. I'm sure the the extreme depth and compact diameter have everything to do with that. :-)

I know that Tiger White (drummer for Jon Conner) was using this kick as his primary for both recording and live performances. I'll see if I can get some samples for you in the next week or so on YouTube, and I'll attach the link.

Love the Gadd-signed crash. I got one through his crowd funding campaign (for Gadditude) but I put it on the wall. Like that you're playing yours. Inspiring.

Posted pics before, but here is my DW Performance kit from a recent convention show. I'm now rocking 9000 series pedals and have changed from a regular K ride to a K Custom ride. I took an extended break from drumming and have been playing bass mostly the last several years. When I was drumming before, I was using a Pearl Masters Custom MMX kit that I absolutely loved. I like these much, much more. Just superb drums all the way around.
