Oliver, this is huge for a guy of your age. I don't want to go into depth here, but it's something I had to do for quite a while until I lost my mother. The one thing you need to be aware of is just how fantastic a person you are. Your mother knows that, & you should know that too. Your care of your mother eclipses just about any achievement you could aspire to at this point in your life. I mean wow, I'm in awe of you, & proud to be associated with you.

Are you based in the UK at the moment?

I wish I could influence the judges in the snare competition you've entered. Unfortunately, I can't :(

Yep. Snails and cockroaches. That's all that will be left when we're through.

funny you should say that about cockroaches. my aunt was saying that she once had to take bugs to school for some reason and she took cockroaches. she froze them, and by the time she got to show them, they had defrosted and run away...

You certainly cant do that as Magenta would kill us both! And I just got the news mum might be going back to stoke mandiville for a month or two, she finds out wednesday :/ And ofc step-dad still refuses to stay at home due to work commitments so its just me and her, and a dog with the most chronic case of bad wind you can imagine.

Apparently the narrator has never heard of a bunker buster. If it can do this to 6' of concrete, a 150' soft skinned reptile stands no chance. Godzilla would be vaporized.

Yes. I banned him - permanently.
In a nutshell: He made fun of people (although not forum members) for no reason. I posted a comment on this. He took this as dog piling. We had a few PM's. He got upset, called me names and well, guess what happened. I've been noticing that he had some rudeness in some of his posts. That alone didn't make me act in any way but his reactions on my comment and PM's did. Initially, when I addressed his lack of respect via PM, I had no plans on banning him whatsoever. I was surprised and disappointed by the way he reacted though.

Not sure if you'd still like him after reading the PM's he sent me.

I won't go into any more detail about that guy. He clearly steered towards getting banned so in the end, it was kind of his own decision. So be it.

Shame about mike, he was the one who reached out to me and was really kind to me :/ Il think fondly of him. I finally had a good break, so im a bit happier now (though mother is still very ill). And i thought, what have i always wanted.... and well i am very serious on my drum ergonomics (well my fiance makes me so) so im getting myself a speed king. Recently ive played almost exclusively heel down and want a really loose pedal and i played one of these and it was perfect. Just ordered it, cant wait!

I really loved the look of Superman's Hair. It was a lacquer finish that DW did back in the 90's. I thought it looked stunning.

Go on, really jerk on those classic sensibility strings - 3 ports in a smiley face configuration should do it ;) (don't forget the chrome ring port embellishments & 3" deep reso hoop)

We just had to cancel a gig because our band is too big with eleven people in it. The venue told us that we could only have 8 people maximum in the band. Insurance reasons I guess. It's their loss because with eleven people in the band, we bring a ton of business with us. How lame is that?

Today's random thought:

Some people are known to wear hats made of aluminum foil as a means of preventing the government or aliens or whomever from reading their thoughts. I think this is the mark of a crazy person. Has it never occurred to them that a copper bowl is a much better conductor and is far more stylish besides?

I wear a copper colander. It works as a filter only letting in the good.
And no the copper colanders are not made in Cleveland by the same company that makes the copper clappers that were copped.

Lame? 11 people? Insurance reasons? You guess?

Sounds like they booked a less expensive act....

It's possible. I just thought it was weird that there is a limit to the band size. We don't charge anymore than any other band, but we bring a lot of business with us.

Most buildings have occupancy limits for fire etc, but I doubt it says 250 people 10 band members. I would call him on it.

This really surprises me. I would never pick you to have anything with a logo, just a straight up blank head. My image is you care less about brands. but that hat's just my random image...from a keyboard view.

Another thought - in terms of "brand loyalty" on here, I am guessing Ludwig has the most.

I do have a blank reso head on now, OT, but I'm in the process of doing all sort of upgrades to this Ludwig set and I just thought it would look a little cooler with that classic logo on the front. The port is for getting a different sound, I want a tighter, less-resonant low-pitched POW when I bury the beater.

Hey butter fingers, thought you were gonna say a bouncer slipped under an ill timed hook shot and copped you flush on the jaw. With catching displays of that calibre, you'll have your England test cap in no time.

I was having a joke with myself today. I bowled a couple of leg spin deliveries in the nets that went past the edge. I won't talk about the loose ones... I haven't bowled a ball in over a decade.

I'll be number one spinner in no time. Monty Panesar's fielding never seemed to matter...

My bat is hilarious. It's 'vintage' to say the least. Probably at the best, 1950s. I inherited it. Won't see me hooking any time soon. Forward defence only, I think.

Sri Lanka did themselves proud. Apart from the nearly-epic batting display today, I have to say the better side won. Gutted.

It's a marvellous game mate. Even if it is the only game in the world that can last for five days and still end in a draw!!

And we're finally back on top of the Poms again. After several years of hearing their incessant bleating, it's high time to turn the tables and gently remind them that whilst it may be a game of their invention.....they're shit at it!! :-)
