I was listening to some Dave Tough today because I have a Dave Tough Advanced Paradiddle Exercises book that I started working on. So I was curious what he sounded like. I heard a few numbers, then came upon this little gem with Gene Krupa drumming in 1971.

(Greg Howe was among the first guitar heroes that I became aware of in around 1990 - that had a major impact on me so from that time I started focusing on technique/solo stuff and get more into music in general.)
I love Greg Howe.

Not sure about the singer though. Gonna give this a chance because I miss listening to Greg.

Digging this album by guitarist Dewa Budjana. Drums: Vinnie!
Bass: Jimmy Johnson. Plus some guest appearances.
https://moonjunerecords.bandcamp.com...askar-24-96khz

Listened to the album a few times, liked the mood and melodic approach. Then finally bought it. Continue listening.

That album was mentioned by Allan Holdsworth on facebook. I hadn't heard of Dewa Budjana before but it turns out he's one of the most significant/famous Indonesian guitarists.

Been obsessed with TesseracT's latest album lately. Altered state. Retrospect, Nocturne, Exile and especially Proxy are just so damn cool. Haven't really heard anything like it but then again, I haven't been on this planet very long.

Lately I've been listening to some old Eberhard Weber (Yellow Fields with Jon Christensen on drums) from the 70s, Gordian Knot (Sean Malone), and Porcupine Tree. And quite by coincidence, there's been a large porcupine visiting our house lately, mostly staying up in one the hemlock trees. I guess that makes it a real porcupine tree.

Right now in this moment of time i am listening to Duff McKagen and Justin Chancellor bass tracks. I really want to learn how to play the bass! As far as music goes, ...And Justice For All is frequently on as well as Scorpion Child. Quite a jump huh? Asking Alexandria, Bring Me The Horizon, Tesseract, and of course the mighty Tool go through rotation throughout the day. Oh and quite a bit of Marvin Gaye. Man my music is all over the place!

Lee Stanton is honestly one of the most amazing drummers. Saw him live at soundwave and going to see him again in a couple of weeks on the Free Your Mind Tour.

I've been listening to a lot of Santana lately. Not because of Carlos Santana, but because of his percussion sections through the years. So many fantastic percussionists and musicians have passed through that band. I find it fascinating just to see the lineage of percussionists he's had through the years and see how their individual styles affected how the band presented themselves at the time. Not to mention his wife is not only an incredible drummer and percussionist, but also kind of a hottie too. . .
