Default Vater Eternal Black

I'm looking to get some sticks and came across what seems like a pretty good deal on some Vater Eternal Black Power 5B's. What the heck are they made from? Are they inferior to the regular ones? Experiences?

Eternal Black is made of the same hickory wood but there is a thick black lacquer on it, like on the Wengren signature model . I have already heard complaints about black stains on cymbals. I use sometimes the 5a black on v-drums ...where the cymbals are black also ;-)

Thanks. I think I'm gonna give 'em the miss. My trusty Vic 5B's are on special at my favourite store for only $9 more for a 6-pack. Gonna go that route.
