One Ebay the variation of that is:

PDP - Not Pearl, Yamaha, Ludwig, Tama, Gretsch, Premier, DW....

These are some of my favorites.

Wow! Travis Barker sticks. Only $20!
http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/msg/4327854345.html

It's not like I can just go to GC and pick these up for less than half the price.

I just saw a ZBT crash going for only a hundred dollars too. Woo-hoo! He wants some serious cash for his Xbox too. I just sold mine for a real deal to a guy at work $60 which included 5 good games too.

We are very limited with second hand resources in this part of Australia

We basically have Ebay and Gumtree

I am not familiar with CL at all

You guys in the Americas (North, Central and South) are lucky

However, some of these ads are so funny

The entertainment value is just huge!!

I always get a real buzz seeing these ads on DW

That one that Grundersdad posted with the drums and hardware packed up and thrown in a pile is THE best so far

This thread is second only to "Unpopular drumming opinion".......in my opinion

Keep them coming guys

I think Craigslist is pretty much the same as Gumtree.

There are funny things on Gumtree every now and then, I once saw an ad in the music/instrument section for a metal ruler 'with a really good twang'. Asking price (no offers) was £500.

Another good one was when somebody was try to give away some paving slabs but, due to a typo, the ad was offering 'free slaps'. I'm not sure that he got the kind of responses he was expecting from that one.

I was laughing at this thread last night in bed so hard my wife had to come over and ask me what I was looking at. It was the drunk kit. Too funny.

I can imagine one of those 'Missed Connections' sounding like this:

Girl In The Front Row @ Goober's Place

Me: I was the drummer at the show last night picking my nose during a break.
You: You were in the front row, bald and picking your scabs.
If you see this let's pick a spot to meet.

Okay so I found a great one, the drum kit is pretty sweet (not worth anything near that price though) but those cymbals really? Do they justify an extra $1450

I know not in the spirit of the thread but I get special feelings usually reserved for members of the opposite sex when looking at this kit. My question: is this a good price?

Default Great CL ad

http://chattanooga.craigslist.org/msg/4415607588.html

Text copied below for posterity...

---------

Are you ready to bang your head, get girls, and have the police called because the neighbors can't hear their phone ringing over the sound of your awesome beats???
Well...This drum set just might do the job. This baby is a Pearl "Forum Series" bought for the sole purpose of getting me girls. Unfortunately now that I got one, she is making get rid of it!!
It went from my living room to my garage and hopefully to your man cave.
I'm selling this beast for $450 or OBO!

(K-9 not included)

-----------

My first kit was a Pearl Forum back in high school. It worked for me too, my first girlfriend noticed me playing the kit at football games. Now I'm married and have 2 kits, and my wife doesn't want me to get rid of either of them. I'm glad I found the right woman. I may send a response to the guy in the ad advising him to keep his drums and keep looking!

From the two sentences I highlighted, it's clear that you would be wasting your time trying to help this whipped fool get his masculinity back.

"Man cave"? Coming from him it sounds more like "hidey-hole from scary women". Which is essentially what a man cave is anyway, but still...

Might be a slight inkling towards a Sheldon Cooper type that plays guitar.
