Default Roland SPD-SX w/Mainstage

Using the SPD SX with MainStage 3 - works like a charm...mostly.

I would like to be able to use a sustain trigger of some kind - even a toggle would be fine, maybe just on/off set to one of the pads. Is there a way to do this? I'm really fresh with this software. Just downloaded MainStage today, the instruments are great, but would be better with the use of a sustain pad/pedal/footswitch....
I'm trying to use timpani, vibes, big-ass sounding concert bass drums, you name it. All things that sound pretty terrible with no sustain control.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
