I'm stuck in retail still working for Target.
I personally hate it but I'm headed to college soon planning on majoring in Worship Arts (which includes music for about 2 years) and minor maybe in Youth Ministry.

Jeniffer,

This is going to sound like (and probably is!) a very silly question but I'll ask it anyway...can you un-bonsai a bonsai tree?

What I mean is, is it a process you have to maintain in order to keep the tree that small or do you do the process as before it germinates/whilst its growing, the effects of which carry on naturally of their own accord?

Hope you're well,

Kev

Yup I know! I have been a General Contractor (licensed since '06) and I think the economy was conspiring against me when I opened my own business. I ended up going to work for the government until things pick up again. When I left the Army construction work was the only thing I could get. So I worked up from just a laborer, to a carpenter's apprentice, then a foreman, then a commercial construction superintendent and finally passed my states G.C. test (Florida was no joke!). The boom died out just about the time I opened up shop.

I am currently 'signed off' from work due to long-term illness. Next year I should be doing a Masters programme at my old University. Between then and now I have to get some kind of job but that also depends on my condition improving.

Well I am an Electrician by trade. Did that for 15 years, and hated it! Stayed home with my kids for 15, loved it! Last two years I have been a farmers helper for a friend up the road. Get to drive huge equipment, and learn all about farming. Don't get paid much, but my job is 2 miles away, and I love it! I also have another part time job and that is buying drums. It doesn't pay anything, but I still love it! :)

Joined a new band, had our first rehearsal in a fantastic studio in North London last night. Have a gig in January and one A&R man has committed to seeing us with a real possibility of another, competing A&R man also going along. Interest from NME as well as possible radio play. The band's demo is excellent and that's what hooked me in to begin with.

We'll see.

I'm a translator (Russian, English). Also doing interpreting (Russian) at times.

That's why I'm mostly working at home and happen to have a lot of time in-between work - or to keep my feet busy while working at the PC.

(In fact - as typical - I'm practicing doubles ATM while typing this... Having my double pedal & kick practice pad right under my PC desk. This has become so much second nature within those 2 years I'm into drumming that I had to think for a moment whether my feet are doing 'something' or are idle, haha.)

As much as I wish I could pay the bills with my music, I fix and implement corporate computers/networks. It really is every bit as exciting as it sounds.

Well that has to be the thickest veiled piece of marketing ever.

As I'm posting in this thread I'll come clean.

I am a purveyor of motor car parts, specialising in parts for a sports car manufacturer formerly known for its air cooled cars.

However, my dream job would be working in a pawn shop like Cash Converters or some other second hand enterprise

I would love to have my own second hand hunting TV show that seem to be saturating our viewing time these days.

Maybe a member from DW and myself could start a TV show where we go around to peoples houses with old drum kits and haggle and bargain our days away!!

We could call it "Tub Thumpin' with Drumkat"

Potentially NSFW if you're in a fierce strict environment, but nothing that you don't already know about.
