Default What kind of drum heads should I use?

Hey!

I am using a PDP Concept Series Kits Maple CM5 and I'm looking for a sound like the drums in Palma Violets.

Emperors tuned low, PS3 on the bass drum seems to be what he's using. Any two-ply head tuned low, and forced through tons of EQ when miked will get you that sound.

I recommend getting a good 2-play over 1-ply solution, such as Emperors over Ambassadors or G2s over G1s (he's using coated), then tuning the drums to where they sound best for them. Your audience should hear something pretty similar to the sound he's got going on.
