Default Getting mixed signals

Good day, I have a Yamaha dtxplorer and im having issue with sounds being heard when not played. I have been having trouble with my mid-tom....when I hit the small mid tom pad....the tom sound is made, but my crash will go off aswell and I did NOT hit that pad. It is driving me crazy and makes my playing sound terrible and sloppy!! Is this an easy fix and how?? Is it because they are too close together and and the vibrations are setting off the crash?? Please help with this and any other kit "tweaks" I can/should do!! Thanks for you help......Happy Drumming!!!

This is exactly what is happening and it is called "crosstalk".

Here's a good article about fixing it: http://www.ehow.com/how_4826787_trou...drum-sets.html
