Default Max Weinberg

Was looking at some recent pictures of Max Weinberg's kit and was wondering device is sitting on the top of his bass drum

If the picture I saw is what you are talking about it appears to be a mount with an Ipad on it.

His video screens to see the M(usical)D(irector) or his visual metronome I presume.

It's a video screen so he can see were Bruce is when he's out of site, running around the stage. He needs to see him at all times for the cue's. He spoke about this in MD magazine a few years ago.

that picture is from 2009 or at least he had "that thing" in 2009...ipads came out in April 2010.

I still say it's a video monitor. I could be wrong but I'm certain I read a quote from him explaining it...but again I could be wrong...

Anybody seen someone else (singer, guitarist, etc) with something like it.

It looks as if there are two of them...one in the "cockpit" and another off to *his* right. They look to be too small to be ipads....

I would also guess that video relay is the purpose; Probably also why he uses a small kit that he can see past cause he is usually up on a riser (with the boss and e-street) and needs to see the cues
