Don't make fun of me, lol.

I recorded this quickly earlier with the C02 on the snare.

Thanks! I had to play with the kick quite a bit, tuning and muffling wise. The kick is actually tuned up more than I normally would, but following someone's advice a cranked it up and tuned it like a tom and then detuned it until it started sounding like a canon. There is a flat pillow in it and the heads are the Emad2 system with muffle rings on both batter and reso. The front of the mic is just barely inside the port hole up front.

C02 all the way. Incredible little CHEAP mics. =)

I downloaded some drumless tracks that I wanted to wait until I've got video for, but I'm chomping at the bit to record stuff now. I'll update you when I'm officially up and running.

I have used the C02 on snare several times. A little more finnicky about drum choice and positioning than a 57 but when it works its great.

Did you say you used the c02 on the kick drum too?

Its working ok so far. My main focus is getting a good snare sound out of it, which it is almost doing. It still sounds a flat to my ear, but that could be a tuning issue. The heads are old and could be changed out.

Here is another track I did yesterday. I really just wanted to hammer something out and see what it sounded like in a mix, so it isn't perfect and the drums are pretty boring. The snare is a too loud in this mix, but overall for this being day 2 of my mic'ing experience I am pleased. I figure when I actually know what I'm doing I'll be able to achieve great results.

https://soundcloud.com/marblegt/mooore-metal

The kick is the Samson Qkick that came in the mic kit. It sounds absolutely thunderous. The heads are tighter than I would normally have them just to get rid of the "dodge ball on gym floor" sound, and I opted to put in a flat pillow as opposed to my normal nothing in mindset.

I've been playing TAMA kits all my life, but this one takes the cake so far.
It's a limited edition Starclassic Performer B/B in figured glazed birch. Just picked it up recently. The B/Bs don't need any introduction, but the finish on this piece is nothing short of amazing. The heads are alright too (although I still prefer the Evans G1/G12 coated on the B/Bs). I hope you like it.

These photos remind me I need a matching Speed Cobra hi-hat stand!

Thank you, guys.
Really happy to have nabbed that finish, LE badge adds some flavor also.

Got some SLP snares too, also highly recommended if anyone's on the fence. The aluminum one is by far my favorite of the line, brings back memories I guess. The classic maple I actually prefer more than the Starclassic Maple snare. Haven't tried the STAR and Starphonic snares yet, so can't comment on those.

Hi guys.

Had an amazing stroke of luck a few days ago

I was driving down the road the other night

And my headlights caught a black and chrome pile of something on someones front lawn

Here in Australia we are allowed to dump certain house hold items at certain times of the year on the roadside verge and the council will collect.....

Low and behold, it was a Tama Rockstar DX

Beautiful condition, with a 22x16 bass, 12,13 and 16 toms

Had good condition reso and batter heads

Hardware was shiny with NO rust, shells in AMAZING condition

I knocked on the door and asked the man about them who said..." I don't like them..."

I got them home and ....OMG!!!

The bass drum is thunderous

The 12' tom and 16' tom are absolutely beautiful

WOW...I cant believe my luck a free TAMA Rockstar DX kit

This kit has got some balls compared to my Premier Genista

Wow....well pleased with my new 1990's kit Tama Artstar kit!

Picked it up from Ebay from a guy in London at a good price.

Haven't had chance to set it up & play yet but spent all day yesterday stripping everything down and and cleaning everything and i mean everything.

Tuning rods, the Chrome, inside the shells, re-greasing all the rods, cleaning all the shells etc.

My wife was a star with her patience in helping me incredible! completely stripping and re-building the kit!

Fitted new G2 heads all round and it absolutely sings i AM SO PLEASED WITH THIS KIT!

Wow can't wait to set it up but i'm just missing a locking nut of one of the Bass drum spurs which im struggling to find!

Updated photo of my Rockstar kit.

10,12,13,16 inch toms and a 22 inch bass. The snare is a Yamaha, that's what came with it. I also have a set of GP roto-toms, 6,8,10 inch.

My cymbal set up from left to right is a Paiste 2002 16 in. crash with a 6 in. accent, 10 in Stagg SH splash, 10 in. Stagg SH china, 8 in. Zildjian splash, Paiste 14 in 2002 soundedge hi-hats, Paiste 17 in. Alpha rock crash, 18 in. Alpha rock crash, 2002 22 in. ride, 18 in. 2002 china, 17 in. 2002 crash with an 8 in. accent, and a Stagg 8 in. SH splash. I also have 2 cowbells and 4 agogo bells.

All of the hardware is Gibraltar except for 1 Tama double tom stand.

All of the Tama toms have clear Emperor heads on top and black Ambassador heads on bottom.

Here are a few shots of the Tama kit and setup from my gig last night. I play a Tama Starclassic, but I couldn't bring my kit last night so I used my singer's kit since he is also a drummer and he had time to bring his kit. It is a Tama Rockstar Custom in 10", 14" and 22" sizes with my cymbals and snare. The snare is a 7x14 Pork Pie Cherry Pie (Cherry/Bubinga) and the cymbals are:
15" Paiste Alpha Rock hats
17" Paiste Signature 17" Fast Crash
18" Paiste Signature 18" Power Crash
21" Paiste Twenty Series Prototype light ride
