You don't mind if I call you a clueless mind! I liked Shemp, and feel he was poorly treated on here, especially by you!

Notice the comma between clueless and mind. He wasn't saying he had a clueless mind, he was saying equally clueless, mind you.

Now this conversation is over. Thanks.

I liked him well enough too. But let's not kid ourselves, he was treated in similar fashion as he treated others. He wasn't all giggles. He was prickly enough when it suited him and he didn't mind stamping his feet and rocking the boat over some pretty micky mouse issues either.

He's a big boy and should know that if you're gonna dish it out, you've gotta be able to cop a little back. At the end of the day, he clearly didn't want to. So he walked. It's a shame, but it's his call. No-one else's.

Hello Glen! Can't say I've missed you mate.

Go back and read over the posts after he mentioned that he thought Andy was using the site for marketing his product, and tell me he was treated fairly. I think the only one that did treat him fairly was Andy, strangely enough!

The moderators have had their say but I suppose restraint was never your strong point, Glen.

Please no more, Glen. This thread has always been a fun, relaxed one. We've had enough spoiling of what should be enjoyable threads with needless conflict - Andy's web suggestion thread, now Mary's vocal thread.

We had 43 pages of goodwill here on this thread ....

Are you sure? If I knew it for a fact I'd ban him within seconds. But not if it's a suspicion only.
EDIT: Oh, he has been banned and the decision taken already.

Bermuda's already done it.

I'll explain the pattern of Glen's posting:

Particular grammar and phrasing. I can't explain it, other than I know it when I see it. Especially uses the word 'buddy' and is passive-aggressive, with smileys after contentious posts.

Almost always posts first in a Mapex-related thread first.

After a few posts, feels the need to start making digs at other members, particularly me. That started on the 'film' thread. After posts he doesn't like reach a critical mass, he starts on the attack proper.

Note how he referred to 'Guru' drums in all-caps. That's a Glen trait. He also refers to old members in first-name terms - something that doesn't typically happen when somebody has been on the board less than a month.

Lastly, the email address. He set up a new one for this account. In the past, that's how he's been rumbled and his current system is to hide the address or set up a new one. A Google search will confirm that it's a new account by not returning any hits. Even accounts that aren't used regularly usually return some kind of information on a search but an almost brand-new account won't.

Yes, it's circumstantial evidence but it builds up quickly. We've all seen Glen enough times on this board to know what these patterns look like and it's very individual. If I did the same thing as Glen, you'd be able to pick me out the same way from my posting pattern.

Wouldn't he draw some conclusions from your pattern description, to make spotting him a bit more difficult next time? haha

Y'see, that's the beauty of it.

He does change things around (like the email addresses, etc.) but the manner of posting is something that's been built up over a lifetime of communication with others. For Glen to change that would be very difficult and would require a significant effort and even then, signs would show through.

Let me put it this way. We all have our own style of writing. That style has particular traits, terms and characteristics that are unique. No two people communicate in quite the same way. In my case, I fluctuate between short and long sentences and use certain words. It's very obvious it's me and it's a force of habit.

If I tried to change how I post, it would be a very forced and conscious effort and meant that I was less able to express myself. Glen is somebody that likes to express his thoughts in a particular way and trying to change his manner of expression would perhaps provoke anxiety or at the very least make the expression ineffectual. So he might try to change it now I've given the game away but I guarantee that if he does come back, even if he does change his posting style, he'll give himself away eventually.

Hilarious! Challenging yourself to keep spotting him without your pet cues. I admire your dedication to excellence in this field :)

I knew once he started focusing on you. He always does because you're his nemesis - you are his Joker and Lex Luthur rolled up in one.

The first name calling was also jarring, along with the supreme confidence a new member needs to jump straight in gunning. It's akin walking up to a group of peers and after a couple of minutes telling them that they're creeps and should lift their game. It happens (eg. Shemp) but not often.

I should have realised much earlier on from that, but I didn't, so I bow to the master!

Just spent another hour and a half playing around with guitars, laptops, amplifiers and a lot of digital signal processing to make horrible noises. I love my hobby. You can't even tell which instruments I'm playing half the time because it all sounds wonderfully monstrous...

https://soundcloud.com/grumpiusmaximus/sketches-of-pain

Got some more processing to do to this one. This is the basic 'live' recording. This is exactly what comes out when I'm playing it live. There are one or two 'pet processes' I want to add to this one but that'll take another hour to set up and do and it's late.

No, no. I meant to say, this is what came out 'live'. In one take. No post-processing. Not in front of an audience!

Although I'd like to gig it, I'm not up to the standard yet.

I'm so happy today because my daughter just landed a major roll in a Bollywood film. She starts filming in India in March. Great break for a young actress, & exposure to a totally different audience. It's a mass appeal comedy apparently, & stars a well known Indian actor I've never heard of.

Thanks guys :) Contracts still being finalised, but it's a great break for sure. I know nothing about the Bollywood scene, except that it's huge. She applied for the lead female roll, but didn't get it because of her age, & probably her height (she's 5ft 11inches) The lead roll is meant to be about 25 years old, & Emma is only 19. The audition landed her the second lead female roll though. TBH, lead roll was a bit ambitious, but hey - go for it girl!

Here's a couple of pictures of Emma from her agency site.
