Default Roland TD 11kv records pops and cracks even after driver update!

I'm experiencing an issue of constant cracks and pops recorded while connected via USB in Logic Pro 9. I updated to the latest driver for Mac Mavericks but have experienced this ever since upgrading to Mavericks.

I've tried adjusting the buffer sizes and that didn't work either. Any idea?

Have you tried using the quick record function on the TD-11 to see if the playback is clean? If the playback is clean I would look at the cable you are using to connect the TD-11 to the computer. It could be bad.

If the cable is fine, it may be a setting in Logic that is causing issues. Maybe a gain issue?

Thanks for the reply Tommy. I've checked my wire and playback - they're both fine. I also don't have any gain effects or plugins on the channel strip in Logic. It's odd because before Mavericks, it was perfectly fine and after updating, it doesn't work even in the same channel with no changes in settings.

I'm assuming your trying to record using Roland's built in sounds?

If so, instead of using USB try using the audio out on the Td-11 using a 1/4 cable directly to your sound interface. and then record the td-11 as an audio track.

Or you can always record midi notes and use logics or a 3rd party sample library like superior drummer.

Are you having issues recording with any other external audio sound source? Microphones, keyboard, guitar etc?

I often find pops and clicks in Logic are a result of a sample rate issue. Sometimes it's as easy as opening a new project with default settings, or flipping the sample rate to a different rate and back to the original. I am using Logic Pro X, so I'm not sure any of the fixes will translate backwards.

Good luck!

p.s.
The samples in Logic, even out of the box, are halfway decent....

Hmm.... Sample rate... I had not thought of that. I know Roland prefers 44100 for playback of mp3's off the USB. I find myself sometimes having to convert mp3's in audacity from 48000 to 44100. Not sure why there are different sample rates, but I know Roland prefers 44100.
