Default YAMAHA DTX500 Making Duplicate Sounds..etc

Yeah, for example I do a basic beat with the ride constantly and sometimes it will make the ride sound twice, or even the bell sound (which isn't even programmed in the kit!) also does the same for the cymbal, could make a sound completely different than whats even in the kit

why the heck is it doing this? its pretty frustrating

Try reprogramming the pad types if you haven't already. By default, out of the box, the unit is not configured to what pads you have as the dtx500 has a few configurations (I originally got the 550) is sells as packages. It's in the manual. Also, I would suggest forgetting the unit and use midi out to your sound card or computer and run Superior Drummer/EZDrummer or any of the competitive drum plugins - the sounds are so much better. I never use my DTX sounds since I switched.

You could try disconnecting all pad inputs then, one by one, connect a single pad and test it extensively to make sure the problem is not a particular pad/cable.
