Default [SNARE TEST] PEARL KAPUR snare Limited Edition

Hi amigos !

Let me introduce my brand new Peal Kapur snare. This is a limited edition 100% Kapur snare wood in 14x6.5.
As you probably know this snare has the same spec of the Yamaha club custom snare.
It sounds very well, and from my hears it's between Hickory and Mahogany : dry and sweet with good low ends.

I do not know how many models are avaible ? But it would be nice if I could know :) Does anyone can help ?

SPEC :

- 100% Kapur wood (about 6 plies)
- SR017 Strainer
- Classic Tube lugs
- Pearl classic strainer
- Laquered finish

DEMO :

Congratulations! A nice snare, & good to see accurate alignment of lugs (no splay). Good sensitivity on the demo video, & quite dry, almost bordering on boxy even. A great piece of kit for the money :)

That snare sounds killer when tuned up high. It looks beautiful too. Definitely a solid investment.

I have a Yamaha Club Custom snare with diecast hoops and it is my main wood shell gig snare these days. Kapur is a superb tonewood for drums. I own a Club Custom kit and it is IMHO the best sounding Yamaha kit I have ever played ( I have owned two Recording Custom kits previously).

Kapur is very interesting tonewood. As I said, I also own a Gretsch Hickory kit and Kapur is somewhere between my Hickory snare and my solid Ply Mahogany one. Kapur has great low ends and a very dry attack.

You can check here a full demo of a Yamaha Custom Club (Kapur Kit) :

and you can compare it to a Gretsch Hickory kit :
