25 Grams is approximately an Ounce.

I know this because I buy my tobacco in Grams but ask for it in Ounces. Naughty me.

You could always smoke it by the scruple, just to mix things up a bit more.

My wife takes the caps off the plastic bottles of liquid clothes-washing detergent in the grocery store and smells the liquid detergent until she finds the one she likes. I went shoppong wth her last night, and I asked her, "Do you do this every time?" and she said "Oh yeah."

My wife does the same thing, especially with air fresheners. I swear we can easily spend half an hour in that aisle while she smells things.

Why don't they just find the one they like and, you know, keep using that one?

That's because the one that she's sniffing now is a different brand, but it's on sale for something like 3 cents less than the regular brand. Like everyone else, my wife does the same thing. After 30 wonderful years of marriage, I don't let this bother me anymore.

Who said it bothers me? I'm going to start going to the supermarket by myself to watch other women do it. That's not technically adultery, is it?

I got a tattoo of the Flux Capacitor today. I'm pretty happy about that. I keep telling myself that Doc Brown would be so proud.

My fiance has a similar habit but she always makes me smell and pick a one. I don't get it but I have come around to the concept of body wash. Best thing in the world for people with dry skin.

Also, looking through my phone I realize that I take pictures of the strangest things...

Ditto melons. I sniff them too.

I don't sniff detergent though.

Now those things bug the crap out of me! Air fresheners = no such thing. Despite the hype, they're all just devices to add another smell to mask the pong you find unpleasant. The last thing I want is to exist in a chemical soup!

Sorry...didn't mean to imply that it bothered you...I meant that it used to bother me...now I just shrug it off as another one of "life's great mysteries".

As far as watching other women do it...just don't let them catch you at it. Might be misconstrued as "stalking" :-)

My wife does this with a bunch of things. In addition to detergent she also does the same thing with shampoo, conditioner, deoderant, air fresheners and others....

Avocado squeezer here.

I smell soaps and moisturisers (if there are testers). Pretty cheeky to open a pristine product :)

I'm currently reading all the posts in the gear section. I've only made it to page 51 out of 247 pages of drum threads though.

I got tickets to a Braves game! The Atlanta Braves vs the Colorado Rockies. For years now my wife has wanted me to take her to a baseball game. Being British, she's never been to one, but she's watched enough baseball on the TV with me to the point that she has an interest in the game.

It's hard to find seats next to each other along the first base line, which is where I always used to like to sit, but I happened across two seats on the aisle, near the dugout, not too far from home base. I looked up the actual view and it's pretty damn good!

I haven't been to a ball game in literally decades, so I'm excited too, but the real fun is going to be watching my British wife experience an American baseball game for the very first time.

Don't ask how much it cost. I'm doing my best to not think about it.

My brother went to the US on holiday many years ago with a couple of friends, and decided to go to a baseball game. They said it was absolutely brilliant - they hadn't a clue what was going on, never having seen baseball before, but the atmosphere was fantastic and amazingly friendly, and it was their favourite experience of the whole trip.

It's going to be even more fun for your wife, I'd imagine, because she'll understand the game too. When's it on?

I had a similar experience with cricket. After spending an entire day (like at least 8 hours) watching it on tv, all I really got out of it was the pitcher (not sure what he is called) bounces the ball when putting it into play, the field is round, and there is a whole lot of running back and forth between sticks.

Yikes, I think you deserve some sort of long-service award there!

I haven't a clue about cricket either, although I have a feeling that I might like it if I understood it.

(The person who throws is called the bowler. There is a famous piece of cricket commentary regarding Michael Holder and Peter Willey, in which the much-loved Brian Johnston (RIP) memorably declared, "The bowler's Holding, the batsman's Willey.")

July 29, the last of a three-game series.

Bowler.

You've basically got it. It's a game you need to watch with somebody that understands the game.

So I come home and play Mario64 on my old Nintendo. Pro tip: Tired eyes and bright colours = headache.

You acquire knowledge by learning? Wow, I thought you were programmed with all knowledge directly from birth!

Damn, sorry, I forgot, you were created. Please forgive my blasphemy ;) ;) ;)

On a serious note, my ankles & feet have become very swollen over the last two days. Heatwave or early heart failure? Never happened to me before :(

As I alluded above, "I" have simply existed. I can't be created, nor destroyed. Cool factoid: all "chuck norris facts" are simply converted from "Dr_Watso" facts. I don't mind because I can do a better round-house kick than he can, and we both know it.

You call that grovelling? I am omnipotent, you know. I can tell that you're only sarcastically grovelling. The eye-rolling is a dead give-away at any rate.

Yes. There was a terrible incident where I had to cut off his hand during a sword-fight. As he was hanging on to life at my feet, I broke the news that I am his father. He didn't want to believe it. Well, anyway, it's a long story, and it feels like it took place a long time ago, somewhere far away. Suffice it to say, one of Chucks hands isn't real, but a cybernetic replacement.
