Default Testing the TD-30KV and making house music with this instrument!

Hey Everyone,

I've posted a new video on Youtube and in this video I've tested the TD-30KV!
You can actually do pretty much with it and with a bit of creativity you can make some pretty cool techno/house beats! Here's the link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USLHofCbisk
If you enjoyed the video (and if you didn't), please message me because I think that is just super cool and helpful!! :)

Hey

I've just watched a number of your Youtube videos and apart from being a great drummer, which you clearly are, I like the exploration of the TD30KV and any instruction as how to use and adjust the settings on the TD30KV are always useful and welcomed.

As a matter of interest what is your opinion of the TD30KV?

Thank you for all your compliments! I think the TD-30KV is a really great instrument. Some drummers are saying that an electronic drumkit isn't as good as an acoustic drumkit. I think that is totally nonsense, because an acoustic drumkit is a totally different instrument. Of course; there are a lot of good acoustic drumsounds in the TD-30KV and you can definitely play beats and stuff, but I compare an acoustic and an electronic drumkit as a piano and a synthesiser. A piano is used for different situations than a synthesiser (just as an acoustic guitar and an electronic guitar). So it depends on the situation whether I use an electronic or an acoustic drumkit. If I would play in a rock band I would choose an acoustic kit, but if I would play with a DJ I would bring my electronic drumkit. But to answer your question (I know; I talk a lot!!); I think the TD-30KV is really cool, because there are so many options you can do. I mean I can practically design every drumkit I want to make (which I think is really great). Also the "feel" of the TD-30KV is absolutely great; a lot of dynamic response, fast and accurate triggering etc.
However, the acoustic drumsounds of an acoustic drumkit are still better. But as I said; the acoustic and electronic drumkits are different instruments.
Well, I hope that I've answered your question! If you have any more questions; let me know! :)

Lars

I'm a TD12 kinda guy and I was wondering whether to make the leap and get the TD30KV.

Is the TD30KV so much of a leap forward that it is worth the upgrade?

I don't get too much opportunity to play acoustic drums but when I do I always notice how the tones of the instrument change with stroke, velocity, different hands etc and you don't get this on a TD12.

There's lots of folk here that look down on e-kits but I love 'em.

Hey davo!

It depends of what you want actually, the TD-30KV is definitely a leap forward because of the new technology that's in the electronic drumkit (it's a great performance tool as well). However, it's a pretty expensive drumkit so I recommend that you go to a Roland dealer and try out the TD-30KV yourself so you can feel the difference..

I have and I can't decide.

Since you're an Uber-player I was interested in your view that's all.

Cheers
