Default Jojo Mayer "Scientific Background" Snare/clap Sound

Hello world!
I was just wondering if anyone had any idea how Jojo makes that high-pitched snare/clap sound in his song "Scientific Background":

http://nerve.bandcamp.com/

I do not think he makes it with a drumbal, or his "cymbal ring" invention.. although I could be wrong.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Besides electronics/ heavy editing, the only other possibility I remember off his kit is his TSS pad, but my money is on electronics.

I don't think Jojo ever uses electronics.. Perhaps heavy EQing although he did mention on a YouTube video of his new EP that he wanted to avoid any editing.

Too bad the TSS is discontinued.. I can't seem to find any being sold anywhere.
