Default Boso Drumsticks made from compressed Bamboo.

Been following this company from the beginning. Bamboo is such a great idea (I've thought about it since I was a kid) for sticks. I'm happy that someone jumped on the idea.

I purchased their new strata models which is compressed bamboo. 2b, 5b and 5a. Will try them out tomorrow in the practice room.

I usually videotape my practice sessions, so I might just do a full review via video as well, comparing them to hickory, oak and laminated birch.

I love the idea! Bamboo is quite the weed, while hardwood like Hickory gets more and more expensive.

Let us know the durability etc.

Very cool that a stick company would pursue the sustainable route. I wonder what the pricing is like. I know bamboo grows like a weed once it has sprouted, but it is also takes forever to sprout and is hard to plant. I am intrigued!

they were about 14-15 bucks per pair. I'm going to give them a test run tomorrow in the practice room.

I might just do a video review for kicks too---a lot of folks have been asking me to take a video of my snare and cymbal set up as well.

They feel pretty cool in my hands and have a cool "flex" to them. Just trying them on my pad for now as I live in an apartment in nyc.

Add me on facebook ya'll, if you can't see the photo album.

I'd like to try these sometime as well- heard some bamboo sticks the other week when I tested some bamboo-shaft Clevelander timpani mallets against my IP GT4s. What a difference! The bamboo cut down overtones immensely. It'd be interesting to see how they work with regular sticks.

Any info on where I can purchase these or should I email them directly?
