Default best over ear eadphones

Hey there, I was hoping someone could help me out with something. My boyfriend is a drummer and has been talking about how he wants some good headphones that he can plug into his ipod and listen to the song he is working on while he is playing his drums at the same time; he wants to be able to work on his timing. I really don't know anything about the drumming world so I was hoping someone else could help me as I would like to give it to him for christmas so I can't really be asking him. Thanks!!

Best is always subjective and usually really expensive. On the other hand I use Sony MDR7506 and am very happy with them. Around $100.00.

I recently bought a pair of V-Moda headphones and I cannot recommend them strongly enough. Mine are on-ear but they do a great job of naturally isolating noise. They make over-ear as well.

I love my pair. They sound great and they're built like a rock. They use really durable, high-quality materials so they should last a long time. They got a stellar review on Head-Fi, the audiophile site for headphones, so you don't have to just take my word for it.

And they look great. One of the coolest things is you can customize the shields on the outside of the phones to any color you want, or they'll let you upload an image file and emblazon the image on the shields. So you can really personalize them if you want. Maybe make an image of something your boyfriend likes, such as something drumming-related?

I think you can get the Crossfade M-80s for $149. I paid $240 for a similar model just a few months ago, so that's a great price. You can Google v-moda and find their website but I believe you can buy them cheapest on Amazon.com.

Good luck!
