Default RIP Ed Cassidy

Lost another one. Good to see this one had a nice long drumming life for a change.

Big drums. Big cymbals. Big smile. Big influence.

A real jazz/rock drummer.

I saw him in '72 when Spirit opened for the Allman Brothers in Charlotte. Ed was a real showman.

Saw him and Spirit in 68 or 69 in Philly at the Electric Factory. Opening band was a new band with no album out yet that blew everyone totally away...the band? Chicago Transit Authority. ;) Love Spirit, sad to see Ed gone now.

peace

Mr. Skin (Spirit) from the best psychedelic album ever.

Ed Cassidy was he.

I never paid much attention to Spirit until I started playing in a band a couple years ago that performed I Got A Line On You. It got me checking out the band and some other tunes I liked that I hadn't realized were by Spirit. The history of the band is pretty interesting.

RIP, Ed Cassidy.
