I have the Benny hats and his 20" ride. I also have a 16" dark crash, and I love it.
But the dark series are nothing alike! It's just something different. I think the dark
series is very versatile, too.

Just picked up a Byzance Traditional 18" crash. Very nice, noticeably darker than my brilliants, the Byzance lines are just full of win.

Only Meinl cymbals I'm currently using are classics 18'' china, 12'' gen. X filter china and 14'' hcs hi-hats as secondary hats in my setup. Even though I'm nowadays using mostly Paiste, Meinl still has a place in my heart beacuse I started my drumming "career" with meinl (:

I still have HCS 16'' crash (cracked badly), same serie 20'' ride and badly cracked 10 classics splash and 12'' china which is also very badly cracked. Sometimes I use those last two cymbals as a stack. It works.

As soon as I bought my Dark bell ride I found one in the states on Ebay for $279!!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Meinl-Byzanc...item43b3e81cca

For Jazz I will use my Benny Greb as my left side ride, the Byzance dark as the right side ride. I also like the MB20 crashes which I will check out.

Nice collection, Mirkko!! So how do you decide which cymbals to mount :)?
Curious what deal you have with Meinl, in case you're actually to reveal that?
Would you order that many pies if you hadn't an endorsement?

Thank you!
Honestly, i'm trying everything-then it depends from what my ear (listening the music contest i'm playing in) prefer in a particular gig.About the deal with Meinl,i prefer to keep it for myself-But they'r making a lot for me,really.Anyway-i'm a big instruments lover and fanatic, and i've always get more stuff than i could actually play :P so,definitely yeah! even now i've a lot of my personal cymbals and drums for my personal collection..

Aha! Thanks.

At this point, I have a few cymbals from different manufacturers however I would like to convert everything over to entirely Meinl at some point. What I have on my setup right now from left to right is:

15" Meinl Soundcaster Custom Medium Crash
10" Meinl Byzance Dark Splash
8" Meinl Byzance Traditional Splash
18" Meinl Classics Custom Powerful Crash
17" Meinl Mb10 China

Not pictured:
8" Meinl Classics Medium Bell
8" Meinl Classics Low Bell

The new website takes some getting used to, but I wasn't aware of everything that they came out with this year.

Thanks for the links! The traditional and pure rides sound (and look) interesting!
I'm in the market for one or two jazzy rides, so I'll have to check these out definitely!

Meinl makes a great product. They seem very generous towards their endorsers as well.

I have made the switch! Here is a little bit of my collection now:

From a cool show I did this past summer:

My sand ride:

Upper right is the 22" Jazz Spiral Ride. Simply amazing and this one was played by Florian on MyCymbal.com :

I just got the 2 exact cymbals in these youtube videos.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAKBv...hSNyrA&index=3

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=be38o...p69ZZ2cVhSNyrA

also have a 18" extra dry crash, a 20" traditional extra thin hammered crash and a 15" dark top hi hat over my 2002 sound edge bottom.
i'll get some pics soon.
I love my Paiste 2002's, i'll never part with them, but these byzance cymbals are killer. just fun to play. I wanted something different and I got for sure. lovin the dark and trashy sounds.
