Default How can I do a drum roll?

Hi all, I have a Yamaha DTX Multi 12, is there a way I can assign a drum roll to a pad that will start when I hit the pad and stop when I hit it again?

Read some stuff on the DTX multi-12. That is one nice pad, I want one now...

I am too lazy to read the manual for you to tell you specifics...

But the high-level synopsis is something like this: record the MIDI
for a looped roll (probably at a slow tempo, and set playback at a high tempo),
assign start and stop events to two of the pads, and you are golden.
The literature I read claims it can do all that.

If you can't play a decent roll even at a low tempo, fire up cubase
(which came bundled with it), and edit in your roll there.

Alternatives might be to sample a roll you like, and do something similar,
not sure if you can start and stop a looped sample on that pad though.
