Default Which 2 ply heads for 100% birch kit?

Ok as soon as my 1 ply classics and g1 wear off I want to buy an open, non-muffling 2 ply head. Only problem is, I'm stuck between a few choices and haven't owned my kit that long. I know I want 2 ply because of the attack and I prefer to do my own muffling as necessary with moon gel.

Choices are between Aquarian Response 2's, Remo Vintage Emps, or Evans Hydraulics. Prefer clear over coated. Thanks

Response 2's are best buys. Those or Emps or G2. I personally woulsstay away from hydraulics .

You're kinda shopping 3 very different heads ..... or at least 2. The Emps and the Aquarians are "kinda" similar, but not. Emps are 2 ply 7 mil (like the Aquarian) .... the Vintage Emps are 2 ply 7.5 mil. Evans are pre-muffled with oil.
So, you state you want 2 ply, non-muffled ..... that kinda drops the Evans from the line-up. If anything, they're more muffled than the Remo Pinstripe.
Down to 2 head choices, there really is no "one's better than the other". That's simply up to you to figure out. Buy one of each, and see which one you like better. Then, you'll make that decision. Maybe you'll like one over the other. Maybe you'll like both. Maybe you won't like either.

I like Evans G2 clear batter heads. Peace and goodwill.

I've tried all of them at one point or another, it's just that they've been on various kits and in various times in my life. It's hard to tell what a head is like when it is on a different kit with different woods, and the kits are vastly different in price from each other.

I think the Vintage Emps are cheapest in a pack, I may just go that route. But the Response 2's are great heads as well. What to do....

Please don't exclude the regular Clear Emps from your choices!

Maybe just head to your nearest store and see if they've got any of your choices set up on a birch kit. Or if they've got any of your choice heads available to be strapped on a birch kit. They should be all about customer service right? ;)

My kit isn't birch, but I love Evans coated G2's. Nice and warm. The clears have a stronger attack though.
