Default Which cheap double bass pedal to buy?

Out of the ones i have shortlisted (after goin to local stores) these are the ones which seem to be the best of the lot.

1.Ashton BDP400TW
http://www.ebay.in/itm/Ashton-BDP400...-/260892354625
http://www.ashtonmusic.com/products/.../item/bdp400tw

2. Db Percussion ddpd 669 or 912.

Has anyone heard of these pedals and which one seems to be better?
Will cheap pedals like these last for atleast a couple of years without any problems??
Im a beginner on the drums so i jus need a decent pedal to practise with...
Any Other suggestions??

My advice is to try before you buy, and look around. You could get a decent/above average pedal used for the price of a new low end one.

Taye also makes a really nice double pedal I saw at last years' NAMM show. It sells online via eBay for $179 and it's rather robust. Not sure where you are, but definitely check out what you can in-person. There might be alot of used pro ones out there in your area too. Shop around - you might find a top-line DW or Tama one for cheap too!

How are these pedals?? I saw these too at the store but felt the other two were better cos they use a double chain drive and have baseplates on both pedals.

I REALLY like them. I've only used 1 or 2 other D-bass pedals but they feel pretty good. They aren't overly long though, I wear a size 8 and if my heel is on the heel-plate it takes up most of the board. The slave isn't laggy but does take a little more power to move. I'm happy with it. Someday though, I want double Iron Cobras.

I have tried most of them and I think the pearl p902 is a great pedal. It shares plenty of components with the eliminator, and personally I prefer it's weightier feel with its bigger cam.

I bought the double pedal to play around with a few years ago. I used it with a Roland TD4 e-kit. In my opinion, they're fine for experimenting with. Cost is low and quality is OK. I liked the feel of them better then my Pearl Eliminator pedal. I do not play a double pedal and just wanted to experiment, so they worked fine. The only thing that I found after about a year was one of the u-joints in the connecting rod got loose/sloppy. If your not playing professionally, these are fine pedals. Who knows, maybe they've improved the u-joints.
I only play as a hobby and only about 4 hours a week so keep that in mind too.

I too play only as a hobby. I tried these out at the store today. Felt pretty good.
I noticed that even the slave pedal has a spring. So there's two springs for the slave pedal.
any idea why thats there?

Keep an eye out and you can pick up a used Iron Cobra for a couple hundred bucks... Even if you buy new for $400 it will last you a life time of drumming and more... Hands down the best kick pedal in that price range...

The DW-3000 is sold cheap. Around $150 new, and it's a decent double pedal. I'm still using my DW-4000 that I bought used 2 years ago for only $100.
