Default 14 X 7 snare bags

I have been looking around for this size bag for my snare, don't seem to be many options around, does anyone have any recommendations, or, could I use a 14 X 6.5 case at a pinch?

Thanks

I use a soft 14"x6.5" for my 14"x8" snare. Fits nice and snug.

Thanks Xero, just the information I was looking for, I had wondered if there was a degree of wiggle room in a soft bag.

Cheers

Thanks again, picked one up last night, it's a really nice, well made bag, fits the 14 X 7 easily, I can see how you could get your 14 X 8 monster in as well.

Thanks

ah, sorry, don't have any, it's a Pork Pie maple, 14 X 7, lovely drum, very happy with it, hence the need to wrap it up!

Bags can run in slightly different sizes, due to lug and mount size considerations. A bag that fit nicely on a snare back in the '60s would probably not fit today's snares with generally larger lugs and beefier throwoffs, while today's bags might result in a loose fit on a vintage drum. Bass drums are probably the worst offenders due to their larger legs and mounts than their vintage ancestors.

Anyway, bags don't fit so precisely that 1/2" will make a real difference in fit. The 7" drum should sit nicely in a bag made for a 6.5".
