With my luck I'd hit a communications satellite, disabling it, bounce off that into a GPS satellite, disabling that, then get hit by an asteroid, and die. Not before screwing up half the population for a few months. Then I'd probably fall on someone and kill them after I'm dead, just for good measure.

I'm still not convinced that he didn't black out, at least momentarily, during that high altitude out of control spinning he was doing. Heck, I practically blacked out just watching it...lol.

Maybe it could become a new Olympic sport...24 mile high space diving. I can hear the judges now... "You know, He could have gotten a 10 instead of 9.5 for that dive if he had just completed that 550th rotation on his somersaults instead of just 549. And then of course his dive didn't have the flair of the Russian competitor who burst into flames as he hit the sound barrier. Something for him to shoot for in 4 years!"

In all seriousness though, it was pretty much one of the most amazing things I had ever seen.

I agree. How would you like to be friends with that guy?

-What did you do this weekend? .....Oh, just hung around the house and played a little music, yourself?...Oh, I took a hot air balloon 24 miles up into space and jumped out, broke the sound barrier on the way down and landed on perfectly on my feet.

Yeah, Shirley will do that to you!!

I had a similar experience with an Aussie singer by the name of Suze DeMarchi many years ago. Erotic thoughts are hard to contain from the second row, hey? :-)

Yes! Go Tigers and make the Motown proud!
But on the random side, am wondering if Denny McLean or Gates Brown are still alive. I guess there's Google.

Yes. I have relatives in Detroit and manager Jim Leyland lives 5 miles from me. Would be a fitting end for triple crown winner Cabrera.

Yankees really miss Jeter, Mariano...and why bench 3B Rodriguez? Dumb.

Yuk yuk, where does baby oil come from...

Lol, to continue...why is it called a hot water heater? They really mean cold water heater, right?.

Why do they call them apartments when they are so close together?

If Ella Fitzgerald married Darth Vader, she'd be Ella Vater.

Why do they use straw for hayrides? Why aren't they called straw rides?

Racecar spelled backwards is still racecar.

There is a man in jail. He gets a visitor. The jailer asks the visitor, how do you know this man? The visitor replies: Brothers and sisters I have none, but that mans father, is my fathers son.

What was the reationship between the man in jail and the visitor?

The visitor is the father. The prisoner, his son.

I've seen them a few times, but not in many years now. The best show as at the State Theater in Detroit. I was standing a few feet away from Shirley. That band rocks.

Let's enjoy, shall we? http://youtu.be/Rb7fLA5ccWg

I was reading up tonight and came across this statement: "The topic of animal consciousness is beset by a number of difficulties. It poses the problem of other minds in an especially severe form, because animals, lacking the ability to express human language, cannot tell us about their experiences".

Thing is, if we humans are so smart, why can't we learn to speak dog or cat language?

Okay, no Higgs Boson talk - for now :) What do you think about them calling the killer "Picasso"? To me it's like calling a movie killer Steve Gadd ... no matter how odious the villain was, a small part of me would be on his side.

I'm thinking the hotdog/BB-Q/pizza/sausage/roast beef sandwich/steak dinner debate will go on ferever. So much the better.I welcome different takes on the basic bill of fare.

Skin or skinless hot dogs?Mustard(sorry..I have to draw the line at ketsup)prepared onions, raw onions, kraut, relish, chili, pickles.Vinegar or tomato based BB-Q sauce,or no sauce at all.Secret 20 ingredient rubs or just salt an pepper.German.Italian,Polish style sausage?

Marinated or slow cooked roast beef,Au jus or gravy?Porterhouse,Ribeye,Chuckeye,NY Strip,T-Bone,Sirloin,Fillet M,Skirt,Round,....ok I'm seriously hungry now.

Tonight..12 oz. NY Strip, rare, with sauteed onions and mushroom, baked potato, broccoli and a field greens salad with oil an vinegar.

To me it's not about the destination...it's the journey that makes it all worthwhile.:)

Ha ha. Yeah, amazing, wasn't it?

I'm supporting the Giants because it was the damn Cardinals, and a stupid call made by a stupid umpire, that kept the Braves from making it to the post-season playoffs.

What a ball game! The Giants shut out St. Louis for a 9-0 victory, made even more dramatic by the driving rain that came in the ninth inning.

National League champions once again, the Giants, and the bloody Cardinals lose. Serves them right, too.

I want a Guru - and I'm gunna get one ...

A lot of sports are boring as a spectator. I like to play tennis but most games are terrible to watch. Half the time I can't see the ball.

Cricket (which is at least more interesting than baseball) isn't exactly good viewing ...

1. Man slowly walks back thirty metres rubbing his nether regions with the red ball, creating a tell-tale red stain

2. When he reaches the marker another man walks up to him and then they start pointing to various parts of the field. Sometimes a third party joins in.

3. As they chat and point at least one of them will be furiously chewing gum

4. Man #2 goes away and Man #1 starts running

5. There's a sudden blur of arms and the batter down the other takes a swing with the bat and then everyone starts running.

6. Usually at this time somebody shouts, often the man with the red stain.

7. Then they settle down. At times stares are exchanged.

8. Return to #1

There is a variation of 5-7:

5.1 the man with the bat misses the ball.

6.1 The wicketkeeper and the fielders all jump in the air shouting. The batter shakes his head.

7. At least one of the fielders will say something snide to the batsman

7.2 The batter will walk up the pitch and pat a microscopic piece of grass and amble back again

Then back to #1

I got tired of waking up groggy every morning. It seems like I always wake in the middle of a sleep cycle. I found this website that calculates when to go to bed and what time you should wake up or set your alarm. Seems to be working for me.
