Default K is for Kool

I just picked up 4 new (to me) K's for $600. I feel like the luckiest man ever. These were secondhand from a friend who is giving up the drums, sad but I wasn't going to try and convince him otherwise :P

The set is
K 22 Light ride
K 20 Heavy ride
K Constantinople 18 Crash
K/Z 13 Hi Hats

With the rest of my collection I think I am set for life
A 20 Ping Ride
A 21 Sweet Ride
K Custom 19 Hybrid Crash
K Custom 18 Dark Crash
K 15 Light Hi hats

Score! Congratulations! I love my 24 K Light Ride, I'm sure that 22 is awesome. Too bad he didn't have 17" hi-hats for you (I totally advocate large hats these days).

Yep the 22 is very nice and smoky and sits well with my 15 light hats. I see your 17s and I raise you an 18 constantinople crash/ k custom crash hi hat combo :P

Yep - looks like if you aren't a hard hitter who cracks cymbals, but someone who takes care of them instead, you're set.

Very nice collection, good deal too. I have K's, and Sabian Hand Hammered. I just picked up a 16" Diril crash. It is HH with a raw bell. It blends so well with my K's and HH's that if you were blind folded, you could not pick out which is which. I am told that was the goal in making these, Ibrahaim set out to replicate the K's. Mission accomplished.

That's the plan, though I may have to pick up a few 16" and 17" crashes and a normal set of 14" hats to round out the set :P

@uniongoon- those Dirils look tasty

14" New Beats to go with your Ping and Sweet, and 16/17" A Custom crashes, and you're ready for anything - ha ha.

I have that K Constantinople 18" Crash......and it sounds great as a ride

sometimes I use is as a left ride in jazz situations

You read my mind :). Not the biggest fan of A customs though so maybe just some regular As. I think also a regular 13 K bottom hat as the Z custom dyno is a bit heavy for my liking

Whatever works.

Any way you look at it, you've got a really nice collection of cymbals there.
