Default what is it?

i have a grestch catalina of some kind that has a 24 inch bass drum but a 12 inch rack tom. it has a ruby oyster wrap ive never seen anywhere else. you can see pictures on my thread "catalina club rock"

Gretsch makes a 12 Cat Rock tom so you are probably right. However they also make a 24 Cat jazz bass. The only difference is really in the shell packs they sell. Same wood and finishes

hmmm...it is possibly a jazz with a 24" bass drum...but it must be a discontinued wrap

They are offering alot fewer finishes for these now than they were even 5 years ago. Beautiful kit.

There could be a couple of explanations. Gretsch sometimes has time-limited finishes. Maybe someone had the Club Jazz set and the Club Rock set and liked the 12" tom better. Maybe one or more drums, most likely the bass drum and/or the 12" tom, were bought singly, possibly at Ebay. Enjoy your drums; they a bit unique. Peace and goodwill.
