Default Zildjian Z Custom Mega Bell Ride?

So I was watching this drumming video and as soon as I heard the ride I fell in love. After some time scrolling through the comments I found out it was a Zildjian Z Custom Mega Bell Ride. Apparently they are "discontinued" and I was wondering if anyone know any ride cymbals that are similar to it. Thanks.

Second hand will do it nicely. I doubt they're hard to find.

You should be able to find a used one on eBay or something. Or look for the older, but the precursor to the Z line, the A. Zildjian Earth Ride. It has a killer bell just not obviously bigger as they did on the mega bell.

The original Z Custom Mega Bell is discontinued, but the Z3 megabell is still in production:

The Z3 being slightly thinner in the body than the prior version.

But as mentioned, Mega Bells come up on the used market every now and then.

They're all over Ebay.

Worth trying the Z3 version, but yowsa, the original Mega Bell ride is a monster!

Yes, go and look for it on eBay. Even if you don't see it straight away, take your time and it will come up sooner or later. I did something similar with another discontinued cymbal (old 20 K custom) and I found it. It's still my favourite ride.

Edit: as if by magic, there's one up on eBay now. Too expensive, but worth making an offer! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Zildjian-Meg...#ht_500wt_1287

You'll be able to find a used one. It happens to be a cymbal i cant stand and i know several drummers who feel the same way but had the misfortune of already buying it. Ebay and craigslist. or just buy a ZBT ride, they sound identical, to my ears at any rate.

Z3 Mega Bell is in the current line-up. I agree with the original Z Series Mega Bell being the ultimate. I had one and when I quit playing for a few years, let it go to a good friend who is now deceased...meaning this cymbal is lost forever.

I haven't looked in the used market, but I guarantee you can find an original Z series Mega Bell for a decent price. To me, it's a phenomenal cymbal. It's dry and that bell will kill people...currently playing an A Custom Ping ride...not quite dry enough...need to find Mega Bell!
