Acrylic Kits

I'm interested in getting an acrylic kit in the future, mainly as a live kit. I play in a prog metal band, so I want something that's got a lot of punch. I've never played one before though. What are the pros and the cons? Any help is appreciated.

I've only ever used them in a studio situation and all I can say is they sound huge with plenty of punch, especially the kick drum I was playing. Should be great for live playing

Strange.

Basically it was a search using the word "acrylic" and it brought up a ton of threads on the topic. Many of them addressing the OP's "pros and cons" question.
