Default Question about Gibraltar "cymbal boom arm ratchet assembly"

Hello Dudes!
I have a question about Gibraltar's Cymbal Boom Arm Ratchet Assembly. I never knew that something like this existed. This is a very cool piece of equipment! I want to get one. I've seen it in the Cascio Interstate Music catalog. It says in the catalog: "Medium and Long cymbal boom arms with attachment clamps fit onto most cymbal stand boom rods, floor tom legs and many tom mounts." I want to get one and clamp it onto one of my tom holders and mount a splash on it. Will this work? My kit has the Pearl-style ratchet tom holders. Has anyone on here ever used one of these? Do these things actually work? I know that Gibraltar makes quality products. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Take care. :)

In short... no.

The Cymbal Boom Arm Ratchet Attachment is made to clamp a cymbal boom (a 12.7 mm cymbal arm, in other words) to an L-rod or other cymbal boom. These clamps can clamp to 9.5mm, 10.5mm, or 12.7mm tom rods like Tama, Ludwig, or DW - but not to 7/8" tube arms like on a Pearl.

What Gibraltar makes that would work for your purpose is the Cymbal Boom Arm Attachment Clamp (shown below, link to buy one here).

Al linked to the Gibraltar SC-GMBAC, you can also look at the SC-GLBAC or SC-GCA. Or even better, the SC-GCA-BT has a gearless brake tilter.

I use the product below, it's great for splashes and other small cymbals.

I own 3 of those cymbal arms. No problems at all. I have had them for years.
