Default Neil Peart Tom Mics:

Which microphones are being used on Neil's rack toms during the interviews/ solo on the "2112/Moving Pictures" Classic Albums episode?

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what he's using. I do know that he did use Shure Beta 98s on his rack toms at some point, but these really don't look like 98s.

I'm 99% sure they are Audix D2's.

If you watch this video, around the 5:40 mark, you can see Audix D6's pretty clearly on his floor toms.

Dennis - I know he uses 98s on his live/gig set, but these appear too big to be 98s.

Embalmer - I think you're right!

Thank you both for the help!

I cant see the movie on my phone but Ramsa makes mikes that look similar to the beta 98 (called the WM-S5 and 3) and the 98 first came out ad SM98 with a polar modifier which made them bigger. The new 98 AMP also looks different from te beta version.
