Default Learning

I have recently "hooked" up with a band, with the intent on adding a horn section. So the songs I am learning go beyond what I'm used to playing. Going from some pretty standard rock classics, to playing some stuff that is definitely "technically" a learning curve for me has been fantastic. Chicago, Blood Sweat & Tears, Boz Scags (Jeff Porcaro), Bruce Springsteen, to name a few. But these songs/drummers definitely have taught me where/how to add some very tastey fills. Even if this band were to not get to a point where we play out; I'm definitely at a new point in "learning" how to play some songs that add new life to what was playing standard stuff, with a bit of some "boring" licks. Love it.
I just wanted to share that with you all.

Sounds fun. Playing with a horn section is always a treat.
