Default Periphery - Icarus Lives! Multi-Cam Drum Cover

Hi folks! A couple weeks ago, during my band's recordings, we had enough time to let our drummer record a bunch of covers at the beautiful Blackmirror Studios.

The first of these is Periphery's classic tune Icarus Lives. Many other drum videos will be released soon, including covers and recordings for our incoming album.

Thanks to Aaron Smith of 7 Horns 7 Eyes who did a killer job mixing these drums. I did all the video shooting and editing.

If you wanna listen to a drums-only version, here it is!

Hope you like it :)

Very cool! That's a beast of a song; Travis Orbin doesn't write simple parts.

Music absolutely not for me, nor the drum/cymbal sound TBH, although it's very well done. The drumming, however, was fantastic. Super solid, with every note delivering a musical statement. Love the patterns = super job, & tough to play too!

Nice, I subscribed to your channel, not sure which version I prefer yours or the troy wright version, but yours is definitely better than the Luke Holland Icarus lives cover

This cover is based on the original drum patterns written by Travis Orbin, but also adding more toms since the official album version does contain more toms than Travis' setup. Thanks man! :)

Yeah, Travis' version is mindblowing when you watch him play it. True ambidextrosity.

KIS, you nailed it. Every note has a purpose all the way through. Very clinical, very structured and very thought through.

That's what we wanted to convey, a more "thought-out" version :) Thanks!
